Green Leaf Solar is proud to announce its participation as a Google supplier for the first large-scale installation of Google PowerMeter devices. Green Leaf Solar will be installing T.E.D. Energy monitoring devices that are compatible with Google’s PowerMeter software. The Google PowerMeter application was developed by google’s philanthropic arm Google.org. The Google PowerMeter software will provide people with better access and understanding of their energy consumption habits. Currently most people don’t fully understand how their usage adds up every month. Google feels that buying power without a quantitative explanation of how electricity is used is like “sticking to a budget in a store with no prices.” By giving consumers access to real-time energy information, studies show that home energy use can result in a 5% - 15% reduction in monthly electric bills. This kind of reduction in usage brings a new meaning to the phrase "knowledge is power.”
